Calvin suggests a game of tossing a water balloon back and forth. Each time they catch it, they take a step back. Calvin throws the balloon to Hobbes. Calvin catches the return toss. He steps back and hits Hobbes with the balloon. He starts laughing at Hobbes, who stands there drenched. Hobbes picks Calvin up. He asks if Hobbes can't take a joke. He says he didn't do it on purpose. Hobbes dunks Calvin in the rain barrel. As he climbs out, Calvin says it's no fun to play games with a poor sport.

I'd sure like to shake the hand of the genius who invented these. Ok, here's the game. We toss the water balloon back and forth, but each time we catch it, we take a step back. The idea is to see how far apart we can get before one of us gets soaked. Gotcha. Ok, toss it to me. There, I caught it! Now we take a step back and I'll toss it to you. Ha ha! Catch this, sucker! Ha ha ha! What a chump! What a natf! Ha ha ha! Hey! What's the matter? Can't you take a joke?! It was a joke! I mean, it was an accident! I didn't do it on purpose! Hey! No! Not the rain barrel! It's no fun to play games with a poor sport.
